Dawn Mackay

My name is Dawn Mackay, aged 46. I live in Thurso with my partner Iain and my two kids, Dylan and Isla. I work as an architectural technician and love dancing and going to the gym.
A friend of mine suggested my portraits might fit the brief so I sent them in, never expecting them to be chosen.

I have been drawing for many years but I am very much an amateur artist and only draw for enjoyment and when the feeling takes me. I love drawing people, especially those with interesting faces. My drawings of the Legends of Scrabster was my way of highlighting the people in our town who are the real legends. These people have all lived interesting lives and are a big part of our community. They deserve to have their portraits drawn more than most.
