Gavin Macqueen

Gavin Macqueen is an award winning photographer specialising in landscape, portraiture, fashion, music, documentary and weddings. Introduced to photography as a Wick High School pupil, he is now based in Glasgow and undertakes assignments across the UK.

In the Summer of 2023 Gavin was successful in his bid to fund a photography project to record the wind farms and nuclear power plant in Caithness. In his project, funded by Halsary and Camster wind farms, Gavin has elevated and honoured these structures and their place in the Caithness landscape, evoking comparisons with ancient man-made structures. The striking presence of the wind turbines is unavoidable today and they provoke new reflections on our relationship to the landscape.
