I moved to Caithness around 4 years ago, i have always been creative and love to try lots of different arts and crafts. I mainly do Lino prints, I just love the process, but have recently been working with clay which I am really enjoying. I wanted to be part of this project because i love stories of myths and legends, I had recently made three prints that i thought were very fitting to this project, I hope you agree.
The three prints I have actually came from reading books, I love books and whatever I am reading, always sparks ideas for me. I like to visualise the scenes in books and this then translates to some of my prints. The Blue Man of the Minch idea came from reading Peter May’s ‘The Blackhouse’ a few mentions of crossing the Minch by boat and i had to create a print. The Kelpie came from reading Black Beauty and The Selkie came from reading a Scottish Myths book to my daughter I would love to expand this set of prints to include more like The Giant’s Causeway, The Loch Ness Monster and more.
