Paul Steven

Paul’s work is related to the storytelling component of the Legends of Caithness project.
“Caithness: Lore and Legend” by Donald Omand is a collection of tales linking sites in the landscape to stories of kelpies, selkies, mermaids, bodachs, fairies and more. In some cases, author and publisher Omand supplies Ordnance Survey grid references, and in others he weaves tales which span the county.

Paul Steven was tasked with photographing these sites in a way which invites the viewer to imagine the magical accounts of the past. His unique eye for the incredible Caithness skies above grassy landscapes lit with fleeting moments of sunlight has resulted in these 12 extraordinary photographs of Caithness.

“Photography fits in with my love of the outdoors and living in Caithness – I am spoiled for choice of places to photograph.” To see more photography, see facebook.com/paul.steven.397/photos or email amsmoto@aol.com
